Spruce Creek, PA

Playing with his golf club and balls, probably the best $1 we have spent on a toy
Last weekend Thomas and I spent the weekend at a cabin/hunter's lodge with our family.  We had a wonderful time visiting with the Miller family, visiting with Chad, playing outside and eating!

Our view from the cabin
The cabin
Thomas loved seeing the cows up close and they were not shy at all
Amy and Leslie teaching him how to do the pirate "Arrrr"

Thomas playing cards
Chad, Kobie and Thomas playing with Kobie's new remote control car
Looks like a pretty serious conversation :-)

Driving Chad's new car
Have you ever had someone in your life that when you see them, you miss and love them even more?  I sure wish we lived closer and saw Chad more.  I love and miss him dearly.  So lucky we got to see him!

Free Zoo

Thomas LOVES animals, so what better place to take him but a pet store?  He gets so excited and squeals while pointing to the animals.  I love watching him light up and you can't beat the price.  This is until he wants us to buy the animals.  :-)

Grandma & Grandpa Hammock

A wonderful visit

Lots of reading
A couple weekends ago, Aunt Judy, Uncle Roy and Aunt Sharon came to visit us.  We had such a great time with them.  I got to take Aunt Sharon and Aunt Judy to A.C. Moore for the very first time.  I think we hit every single aisle.  Ha Ha  We also took a nice walk at Yorktown Beach and took them to our local restaurant at the marina.  We were so lucky that they stopped to visit us on their trip across the US and back!

Went for rides on Aunt Sharon's walker
Wrote all over Aunt Judy's crossword puzzles and made silly faces

'Drag' Yourself to Brunch

A few weeks ago Ashley invited me to Drag Yourself to Brunch .  It was going to be about 7 of us, but in the end it only ended up with just Ashley and I.  Selfishly I didn't mind.  :-)  We had such a blast dancing in our seats (you could get kicked out if you dance anywhere else), eating, chatting, and watching the ladies (er men) dance, lip sing and collect dollar bills.  There were 4 ladies that each danced to about 4-5 songs.  One of our favorites was the one above.  She did a Pink song that was just fantastic!  Definitely recommend going to a drag show if you have never been.  My cheeks were hurting because I was smiling and laughing so much.  Yes, I will be going again.  Thanks Ashley!

Some of the best $ ever spent!

We bought a year's pass to the museum and it was money well spent!  They have an outdoor walking path to see animals and also an indoor area.  Karen and Brodie have a pass too so that is fun.  So whether it's hot outside or the weather is perfect, we can always find something to do.  Now that Thomas is walking, he loves it even more!

Toy Box

Just about every morning during playtime, I find Thomas inside his toy box.  Should I tell him that he isn't a toy?  ha ha

Swim Lessons

We take Thomas to swim lessons every Saturday morning.  He seems to enjoy them or maybe more so looking around at all the action.  They have been teaching them to kick on their belly & back, reach & pull and now jumping in.  Randy mentioned that teaching a baby that doesn't know how to swim to jump in a pool may not be the best idea.  True!?!

Lovies (Polar Bear and Rat)

Even though polar bear, rat and blanket all end up on the floor by morning, looks like Thomas does give them a little love at night.
When Thomas started growing out of his sleep sack we decided we should part with them.  I thought about looking into a larger size because who wouldn't want to sleep in a potato sack blanket?  :-)  No, it was time for us to trust him with a blanket.  I know he was ready a long time ago, but mommy wasn't.  We keep the house really warm now though because he won't keep the blanket on.  Hopefully for mommy and daddy's sake he will get used to it soon.

Week at the Beach

In July, we were fortunate enough to get a little cottage in Nags Head, NC for a week.  Mike, Ashley and Randy came down for a couple days and Sonia, Thomas and I stayed for the whole week.  We had such a wonderful, relaxing time.  All we had to do was worry about what we were going to eat next.  Ha Ha

and WALKING!

In the middle of June Thomas started to stand up while holding onto furniture and took a step from one piece of furniture to another.  By July 7th he was standing up by himself, taking one or two steps and then on July 10th he took 5-6 steps.  Since then he had been taking more and more steps, but still figured it was quicker getting around by good, ole crawling.

That was until August 1st when he took off walking!  He walks almost everywhere now unless he is tired and decides to crawl.  So now, if we walk away for one second he seems to get into something he isn't supposed to.  :-)
And it begins..........Ooops, better go get him!

Look Who's Talking!

I feel terrible, but I didn't write down the exact day Thomas said his first word.  It was about the middle of June that he started saying "bye bye".  He was already saying mama and dada, but didn't know what they meant yet (at least we don't think so).  So here are the words that he says now, or tries his very best to say. :-)

Balloon....baooon
Bird
Precious...always in a whisper while he points at her

dada

Wet Wednesday

Last week we went to a Peter the Rabbit ballet/play at the library with Karen and Brodie and this week we went to a magic show.  We have really been enjoying our play dates with Karen and Brodie.  We usually do something at the library, go over to their house for lunch and then play.  We also go to the beach, museum or park.  Mommy enjoys spending time with her friend Karen (whose birthday is today, Happy Birthday!) and it is great to get the boys together.  Today we got to play in Brodie's kiddie pools.  Very refreshing on such a hot day and Thomas did really well with the cold water.

Is it a toy?

Nope....Just a cute, little boy named Thomas!

Found him in his toy box the other morning while playing.  Once he figured out that he could get in and out, he did it over and over again.  It was funny to watch.  Such a smart boy!

Bluebird Gap Farm

We found a hidden treasure about 10 minutes from our house.  Bluebird Gap Farm has lots of animals, hayrides, story times, a huge playground and it's FREE!  We got there about lunchtime and had a picnic just outside the gate.

This would be a nice and juicy turkey for Thanksgiving.  LOL

This is the perfect picture to describe the summer for me (enjoying the shade)  Ha!
