Tummy sleeper?

Lately Thomas has been sleeping on his tummy.  At first I had a hard time with this considering 'back is best', but I must let him grow up at some point.  I am even beginning to think he sleeps best on his tummy.  Oh Thomas, how mommy is sad at how fast you are growing.  Slow down bubba, I can't believe you are almost 6 months!

Thanksgiving Trip - Day 4

Chad showing Thomas what a Mac looks like.  As you can see, Thomas
may end up a Mac user unlike his daddy.  Ha Ha

Aunt Marilyn and Thomas
He loved pulling on her pretty, colorful necklace.

We had snow flurries during the day over at Grandma Miller's house.
Thomas's first snow!

Chad's grill when we got home.  I was afraid that we weren't going to be able to grill out because of the snow, but I forgot that they are used to snow.  Lucky for me we were able to grill some yummy steaks!

Grandma Miller and Thomas
She was so sweet with him.  She kept telling him how much she loves him.

Thanksgiving Trip - Day 2

On Thanksgiving morning, Thomas had his first bath in a big boy bath tub and he did
great.  Daddy held him up while mommy washed him.
Gosh, I love this picture!

Chad, Marcy and Thomas
They were nice enough to let us stay with them and
we had such an amazing time.  We love you guys and miss you already!

Marcy helping Thomas with his sippy cup.  He holds it very well and does drink
a little bit from it.  We are going to continue trying so maybe he can take a feeding from the sippy cup.  :-)

Marcy, Thomas and I are missing, but this is most of us at Thanksgiving dinner.
We had a WONDERFUL Thanksgiving over at Grandma Miller's house.

Everyone (including the 3 dogs) focusing on Thomas playing with Auntie Em.

Probably my favorite picture from the trip.  I have such fond memories of my Aunt Marilyn and I can't tell you how extremely special it was for me to see him receive the same love that I am blessed enough to have.  It also meant so much to be able to share our precious child with such an amazing aunt, someone that I will always look up to.  We love you Auntie Em.

Thanksgiving Trip - Day 1

All packed and ready to go!

Thomas slept for about 5 hours of the 8 hour drive.
I guess it was smart to travel at night!

The tag blanket Aunt Ashley made him was doing it's job, keeping him busy.
On Wednesday we left to PA to visit our cousins Chad and Marcy, Aunt Marilyn and the wonderful Miller family.  We left at about 3pm and got to Chad and Marcy's at about 11pm.  It was a long drive but we didn't rush it, just took our time and didn't have much traffic at all.  We ended up stopping in Fredricksburg to get dinner, gas, feed Thomas and potty breaks.  After dinner we drove for about 3 hours straight since Thomas was sleeping the whole time.  In fact on the way back home Randy had to pee and I told him he had to hold it until Thomas woke up.  Ha Ha

An Early Thanksgiving

Since we will be out of town this year for Thanksgiving, Grammie Deb and Grandpa Barney were nice enough to have a wonderful Pre-Thanksgiving dinner.  Grammie made a couple pork roasts with all the trimmings and topped it off with a 12 layer chocolate cake!  It was so yummy!  We had a great time visiting with the family and we will miss them this year at Thanksgiving, but we are looking forward to our trip to see Chad, Marcy and Auntie Em in PA.

Look at his tongue :-)

Uncle Mike and Thomas
Doesn't Thomas look so much older than 5 months?  He is growing so fast.  Slow down bubba, mommy isn't ready!

4 Months Recap

Wow, I can't believe Thomas is 5 months already!  Before I forget, I wanted to post some of the things that Thomas was doing at 4 months (besides being the cutest boy in the world).  :-)

When we change him, we put a washcloth over his private so we don't get a shower and now he is pulling it off and smiling this mischievous smile (sometimes I wonder if he knows what he is doing)

He can now put his feet in his mouth.  This can make changing his diaper a little more difficult, but boy is it cute!

Earlier this month he would put almost his entire fist in his mouth and now he is sticking with just the thumb.  He doesn't quite suck it, but he chews on it a lot.

Thomas can now roll over from back to tummy going from the right side.  We do need to work on tummy to back though because he rolls over at night in his crib and gets stuck on his tummy.  He either wakes us up with grunting noises or crying because his arm gets stuck outside of the crib.

He has discovered his high pitched voice.  :-)  He loves to squeal really loud and can sometimes sound like a girl (according to Randy :-) but to me, it is music to my ears).  Just kidding, Randy loves it too.  It is just a little joke in our house.

Because he is so long, he is now wearing 9 months sized clothes.

He is already in size 3 diapers!

When he gets excited he smiles and shakes his head back and forth.

He loves to touch, scratch, pinch, pull at and look at faces.  He also likes to suck on my chin.

We found that he is ticklish pretty much everywhere but especially the inside of his thighs (figured this out while giving him his nightly lotion massage).

He is super strong, loves to stand and sit with assistance of course.  Although we do think he will be sitting up on his own soon.

This was one of the best 5 months of our lives and we continue to feel so blessed!

Who is in MY seat?

Well, I have created a monster as they say.  The other day Precious was trying to get up into the glidder while I was feeding Thomas and I buckled.  She ended up laying in between me and the armrest.  It was actually comfortable for Thomas because I was able to lay him on top of her back.  But....now she tries to get up all the time while Thomas and I are sitting in it (which is quite a lot).  :-(

Blue Suede Shoes

This post is for my Aunties (you know who you are)  :-)
When I saw these shoes, I fell in love and had to have them!  When I got home and showed Randy I realized that they are Blue Suede Shoes so I started singing the song and thinking about (and missing) my aunts because they love Elvis Presley.

My Bela

Last weekend we went for lunch, shopping and a little walk around a local fountain with Bela (grandma Sonia).  Randy stayed back at his mom's house working on her ice maker and tried to get me to leave Thomas with him instead of going out with 'the girls'.  I can just picture the day that Thomas will be helping daddy with all his projects, but for now he is stuck with us!

A Baby's Best Friend

As you can see, Precious and Thomas are starting to get a little more curious about each other.  Thomas wants to pull at Precious's hair (and bite her butt, see bottom picture) and Precious wants to lick Thomas in the face.  It is so sweet (and hilarious) to see the two of them together.

Yesterday Precious went into Thomas's room while he was napping and as the door closed behind her, it woke Thomas up.  Argh!  Frustrating, but funny because she goes into his room all the time to check on him.  When I am feeding Thomas, Precious is always in her bed right beside the chair we are in.  Very sweet!

Who's in my seat?

We had some of our friends over for dinner last week with their cute little 14 month old.  As we were chatting, we turned around and found him in Thomas's bouncy seat playing with a toy tv remote.  It was hilarious!

Nana's Visit

Nana Odie from Phoenix came to visit us this week and we had so much fun!  She got in on Saturday night and left Wednesday.  Sunday we went to dinner with Aunt Ashley, her mom, her sister, and Bela.  On Monday we hung around the house and Tuesday we went to Colonial Williamsburg for lunch and shopping.  Funny story....we locked the keys in the car when we got there, luckily Thomas was already out of the car and in his stroller.  LOL  Thank God for AAA, they had the car open within a half an hour.  :-)

My first Halloween

Got this cute little onesie in the mail from my Grandpa James and Grandma Karen.
I plan on wearing it all winter even though it is a Halloween shirt :-)
It was so funny when I first put this onesie on.  He was so fascinated with the bats and spiders on his sleeves.  I was laughing at him just staring at his arm.  He does the cutest things!

Also, for the past few weeks Thomas has been making a sound after he yawns.  You know, how people make that sound after they yawn, but only his is much more high pitched and so sweet.  I have never seen a baby do this and I have no idea how he learned to do it, but it is cute.  Last night when we were at Sonia's he did it so loud and long.  Finally...someone besides Randy and I saw it!  I would love to video it, but it is impossible to know when he is going to yawn.  LOL  You just have to take my word for it, it is hilarious.
