No more crib for Thomas

Woke up this morning to a banging sound.  I was still kind of out of it, but started to look around for where the sound was coming from.  I even looked in a closet (not sure what I would have done if something or someone was in there).  I quickly realized that the sound was coming from inside Thomas's room and when I opened the door Thomas was standing there waiting for me.  The irony of this all was that he was in a crib.  He had climbed out of it.  He had done that once before so we put the mattress directly on the floor still inside the crib.  So...it was time.  He now has a toddler bed, but for a few weeks we had him on the floor.  Sad thing was that he kept falling off and sleeping on the floor.  He still falls off his toddler bed sometimes and sleeps on the floor, but not as often.

Play dates

Went over to our friend's house today for a play date.  I put Nathan on the floor and he began rolling across the floor for the first time.  He rolled tummy to back, back to tummy over and over.  This picture is the one moment he stayed still.  He is posing with his 'girlfriend' Eleanor.  :-)  She is about 5 weeks younger.  We also stopped swaddling Nathan today.  It was probably past time.  Just had to wait until mommy was ready.  Ha Ha

Takeoff!

Took the boys to a small airport about 40 minutes from our house.  We did get to see one small plane take off and one plane land.  Luckily they had a playground to play on while we waited and some tables and chairs to sit at.  Thomas wanted to eat there, but I said "we have plenty of food at home."  Boy did I feel like a parent. Ha!

On the pier

While daddy was out of town for work, we enjoyed a nice dinner at a local restaurant on the water with Bela

Hanging out

I love that Thomas wants to wear a hat because Nathan does and I LOVE the way Nathan lights up when he sees Thomas.  My heart melts!

5 months already!

Not sure if you can tell by these pictures, but we have one happy baby on our hands.
Nathan is so easy to make giggle, smile and laugh.  In fact, it is impossible to not smile back at him when he smiles, no matter how tired you are from middle of the night feedings.

Going bald?

I had almost forgot about Thomas's bald spot until Nathan.
Cutest bald spots I have ever seen.

Couple of random pics

Playing with a cicada in our backyard.  I can remember pulling them off our tree when I was younger.
Laying outside enjoying the weather
We were at the museum and Thomas sat down and said "take picture", so I did.
Too funny
Can't wait until he can take her out by himself.  Ha Ha

Rolling over

Nathan started rolling over from back to tummy towards the end of July.  He didn't like being on his tummy, but every time we put him on the ground he would roll right over.

New House!

Middle of July we moved into a new house.  The boys each have their own room (so do we again :-)) and we have a huge yard (.38 acres) for the boys (including Randy) to enjoy.  I have a good sized kitchen and only one bathroom to clean.  Ha Ha  We absolutely love our little ranch house.  It is small and perfect for us!  We were able to stay in the town that we love and we have the most amazing neighbors that are constantly bringing us fruits and veggies from their gardens.  We have even received baked goods.  Normally I am the one delivering baked goods to neighbors.  Ha!  It sure was nice to receive a fresh baked cake only a few days after moving in and even nicer coming home to a basket of veggies and herbs on our doorstep.

This is the damage that our movers did on move in day into the new house.  Our street was out of power for almost 12 hours on a hot day in July.  The movers tried to back into our driveway not seeing our low hanging power lines and tore them right off the pole.  Oh it was a 'hot' mess!  The neighbors still tease us when the power goes out asking us if we did it.  LOL

Still going

Thomas is still our little reader.  Currently this is his favorite book and he loves to count the items on these pages.

Summer trip to PA

I think this is my favorite picture from the trip.  Kai and Thomas were so cute together holding hands, walking, playing, feeding the fish and just being cousins.  It was so sweet!
First Popsicle
At the end of June we were fortunate enough to go visit Chad, Marcy, Heidi, Aunt Marilyn and all the cousins and family in Pennsylvania.  We had so much fun visiting with family we hadn't seen in a year, playing in the lake, making smores, eating, playing and just having a great time.  So glad that we were able to go up while Aunt Marilyn and Peter were in the states and Heidi and the boys were all here from Hawaii!

Thomas's 2nd Birthday!

Daddy and Nathan putting together Thomas's red table on his birthday eve
Last weekend was not only Father's Day, but Thomas's 2nd birthday!  We went over to his Grandpa Barney's and Grammie Deb's house for the celebrations.
Eating his red, turtle shaped pancakes at his brand new red table.
Red is currently Thomas's favorite color.
New pool that Grandpa Barney bought for the house
We had a wonderful day playing in the pool outside, eating lots of yummy food, visiting with family, playing with toys, opening presents and enjoying his beach themed cake with turtles on it.
A total Herzog move.  Reminds me of our Christmass in AZ.
We did not tell him to do this, it was hilarious!
And where is my next gift?
Gift from Uncle Tom
Gift from Auntie Eve
Gifts from Auntie Jaclyn and Nana Odie

Made with love by the creative and amazing Auntie Ashley
We can't believe that this incredible little boy is 2 already.  He is such a huge blessing to us, our family and anyone he meets.  Everyday is a new adventure full of laughs, new surprises, lots of talking, singing, playing with trains and turtles, picking flowers, kisses and tons of fun.  We just had no idea how much we could love this guy.  Here's looking forward to many more birthdays to come.  We love you Thomas!  Happy 2nd Birthday!
